About Gylsboda
Gylsboda, south of Lönsboda in north-east Skåne province, is where we quarry a black diabase that has grown very popular. The quarry has been operating since the late 1800s. In the 1970s the Ubbaboda Symposium was held, a sculptor’s congress in which artists from around the world came to Gylsboda to discover the aesthetic and sculptural qualities of black diabase.
The black facade of Riksbanken, Sweden’s central bank, is partly made of Swedish Black Gylsboda.
